Ballistic missile or supersonic fighter? After the end of Soviet Union, several countries have begun to work means to defend themselves from external threats in a multi-polar world. Especially among developing countries, there was an arms race to intimidate their neighbors or even the US. Brazil has become one of them. After negotiating a multimillion-dollar purchase of Swedish fighters and lead a peacekeeping force in Haiti, now Brazil decided to venture in the ballistic missile sector. Common today became the inhabitants of São Paulo see trails of white smoke in the sky. This usually follows a pattern, looking like he was expelled by a supersonic plane. However, there are some facts to support this. Over the past four years, it is common to see at Guarulhos Airport, many aircraft of the Brazilian Air Force. Image
Teachers: street protests and empty classrooms Two months ago the teachers of public schools of São Paulo stopped their activities claiming salary increase and career plan. After several negotiations between the teachers' sindicate and the Secretary of Education, both sides reached a consensus and signed an agreement on the salary increase and changes in the hiring regime and tenders for years to come. However, most teachers didn't joined the agreement. The vast majority of these professionals are members of political movements of left and are making opposition to the party that currently governs São Paulo. Ie, they are using the strike as a political weapon to damage the image of the State government and are ditching the commitment to education of young people. Currently they make riots every Friday on Avenida Paulista, disrupting traffic in the region and preventing the passage of pedestrians on the streets. Since the beginning of the strike, hundreds of th

Image was shared by thousands of people on Twitter and Facebook. After the repercussion, Milton Vieira made a video to apologize, said it was cyclist and blamed his chauffeur.  This isn't the first case. Economic recession makes automakers come into crisis in Brazil

Image
Courtyard of automaker crowded: crisis After four years of economic growth close to 0% and clumsy political actions committed by President Dilma Rousseff, the Brazil plunged into an economic crisis without limits: the shares of Brazilian companies fell sharply in international markets, the dollar value rises gradually every day, the industrial production is paralyzed and the purchasing power of the middle class fell for the third consecutive year. But the main sector of the economy that was affected, was the automotive sector. Increase in industry taxes, imported parts more expensive, bureaucratic and inflexible labor laws, labors without skilled labor, lending difficulties and low purchasing power of most of the population, are factors that are contributing to the automakers not able to sell their vehicles and therefore are paralyzing their activities (Fiat and Ford) and firing (VW and GM) and even leaving the country (Mahimdra). Boondock dressed as superhero are facing the crime in Brazil

Image
Man dressed as Batman argues with mayor of São Paulo Due to the increasing wave of violence that swept the Brazilian urban centers, several groups of people began to take justice into their own hands. Fight with bandits on the streets, arrest offenders on poles with chains and lynch the thieves in public places, became common activity in Brazil. To complete, a group of "vigilantes" began to act dressed as American superheroes fighting crime in Brazilian streets and even doing actions that benefit the environment. One of the points worked by public security experts is that these people are fighting spontaneously against crime because the Brazilian government is inefficient and does not have enough structure to educate young people and fight crime at the same time. In the state of São Paulo there is a deficit of about 100,000 police officers, besides the fact that public schools not form honest citizens due to little investment the federal government in educatio

They demand salary increase equivalent to the inflation of the last 12 months and fairer working conditions. Medical freshmen from UNESP (São Paulo State University) in Botucatu, were received at a party by veterans of the 6th year who wore costumes similar to those used by the Ku Klux Klan, the American sect that preached the supremacy of the "white race" . The event took place on March 5 at a party called "Baptized of Medicine", organized by students of the 48th class of the course, and was denounced by the Facebook's page called "Oppression in Medicine".  Also on social networks, the page "Network Protection to victims of violence in universities" released on Monday some pictures from the party. "The KKK is an example of hatred, eugenics, intolerance and death. What to make of doctors that predisposes to emulate things which were the worst in human history?" Says the publication on the page. Abandoned, husband gives back on top dressed as The Flash

Image
The chlorine seller Adriano da Cunha, 38 years old, went to rock bottom after his wife left him. To make matters worse, his the three children were taken together. Devastated, dirty and tatterdemalion, went to live by the Campo Grande streets. The comeback came after he used the fantasy of The Flash, the superhero created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert. The ragged Adriano could barely get close to people. He was shooed like a mangy dog. The heroic turning point came almost by accident. When passing in front of the appliance stores, he saw on TV the preparations for the International Race of São Silvestre, in São Paulo. In this moment, remembered what he liked doing since childhood: running in the streets, wildly. Then, dreamed to be running fantasized in marathons on TV. Despite the bad appearance, Adriano was able to convince a seamstress to make the fantasy. Making campaigning on the streets, raised enough money to pay for the clothes of the rac

Carnival becomes marginalized party in Brazil

Image
Until about 1960 Carnival in Brazil was a very different party from the party we know today: families went dressed to small balls and the fun was to throw confetti and dance marches. Today we have a totally different scenario: naked people on the street, on TV campaigns encouraging sex tourism, people defecating in public, assaults, fights and even deaths. Another interesting point to note is the feast of the division established by the media, which requires three different types of Carnival: the traditional parade with floats and closed avenue, street carnival blocks (formed in majority by drunk and drugged) and Carnival of Bahia (comprising the party of other cities in the Northeast of Brazil). An interesting question is due to cleaning costs, values generally passed discreetly via phone bill for local people.

Eduardo Cunha is also suspec

Brazilians use the Waze to prevent assaults

Brazilian Senate abandoned incentive projects for electric and hybrid cars

Image
It was two buckets of cold water in projects that benefit electric cars in Brazil. The actions came from the Federal Senate, which cut two bills that would create tax incentives for zero emission vehicles. The first project would establish industrial tax exemption for electric and hybrid cars. The second would give tax benefits related to PIS / PASEP and Social Security Financing. Electric cars, hybrids, parts and components would win these incentives. The projects were being processed in Congress since 2009. Unlike mature markets, Brazil doesn't grant tax incentives for electric and hybrid cars. In 2014, there was only the reduction in the importation tax between 2% and 7% for hybrids without battery recharge in external source. Other than that, all other taxes are normally charged.
