Toilet thrown of stadium kills soccer fan

A young man died after being hit by a toilet thrown from the stands of Arruda Stadium in Recife. The episode happened after the match between Santa Cruz and Paraná, by the B Series of the Brazilian Championship. According to the police, the victim was identified as Paulo Ricardo Gomes da Silva. He wore a black T-shirt and be a fan of Sport Recife, which is the main rival of the Santa Cruz.


The toilet was thrown from the top of the stands during a fight twisted the end of the match. The object fell near the gates 6 and 7, at Rua das Moças, one of the access roads to the Arruda visitors sector. The person who committed the crime wasn't identified and no one was arrested. The match between Santa Cruz and Paraná ended in a draw at 1-1.
