Brazil will distribute free air tickets to congressmen's wives
Congressman Eduardo Cunha, author of the law |
Despite the economic crisis that Brazil is suffering, the Brazilian government insists on increasing public spending. Sunk in scandals, the country is experiencing its worst economic moment, with problems of corruption, lack of water, diplomatic tensions with Indonesia, support to the Islamic State and energy crisis.
With the approval of the project, the wives of all Brazilian congressmen will receive a monthly batch of free airline tickets for domestic and international travel, which will be paid with public money.
The author of feat was the president of the Chamber of Deputies, the radialist and economist Eduardo Cunha, who is known for his conservative and traditionalist view of Brazilian society. He's political disciple of Anthony Garotinho (former governor of Rio de Janeiro accused of corruption) and of the former President Fernando Collor (sole to be impeached in the history of Brazil). Eduardo Cunha is also suspected of having links with Juan Carlos Abadía (arrested in Brazil in 2007 and extradited to the USA) , through of an illegal sale involving a beach house in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
