Carnival becomes marginalized party in Brazil
Until about 1960 Carnival in Brazil was a very different party from the party we know today: families went dressed to small balls and the fun was to throw confetti and dance marches.
Today we have a totally different scenario: naked people on the street, on TV campaigns encouraging sex tourism, people defecating in public, assaults, fights and even deaths. Another interesting point to note is the feast of the division established by the media, which requires three different types of Carnival: the traditional parade with floats and closed avenue, street carnival blocks (formed in majority by drunk and drugged) and Carnival of Bahia (comprising the party of other cities in the Northeast of Brazil).
An interesting question is due to cleaning costs, values generally passed discreetly via phone bill for local people.
