Submarine seized by police: drug trafficking

The Pará State Police is investigating the responsible for the construction of a submarine that was seized in the November 16 near a fishing village located in northeastern of Pará. The suspicion is that the construction was financed by Colombians linked to a cocaine trafficking scheme.

The police said the submarine structure is about 17 meters long, 3 meters in diameter and about 4 meters high, with a capacity to carry a load of up to 30 tons and carry 30 people.

According to the investigations of the police, the responsible for building settled in the area since September and held an ostensive vigilance not to allow entry of people. Fuel tanks used by the group were found nearby, as well as electronics boxes with inscriptions in Spanish.
