Chinese basketball athletes get stuck in shooting near Olympic Village

Journalists and Chinese athletes stayed stuck among a shooting on the morning of Thursday, as they passed by the Yellow Line, two kilometers from the Tom Jobim International Airport. Four armed men shot at a military police vehicle. According to information from the 21th Police Department (in the Bonsucesso neighborhood), one of the shots hit the bus door, but no one was injured.


Through Twitter, the portal "Global Times" published photos that were taken at the time of exchange of fire. Street vendors selling goods on the road lay on the ground to try to protect the shots. Journalists and athletes were heading to the village of Athletes in separate buses.


The Civil Police reported that there's no reference in the record of casualties or involvement of Olympic delegation.

At first the police thought it was an isolated case, but in the same month other women began to have the same behavior. Many people believe it's a form of protest, others believe that they just want media attention or have a mental disorder.
