The Military Police (PM) arrested two military police officers who kidnapped and extorted the New Zealand's fighter jiu-jitsu, Jason Lee. The crime happened last Saturday (July 23), in Duque de Caxias, in the metropolitan area of ​​Rio de Janeiro, when the athlete was returning from a competition.

According to the advisory press of the corporation, the case is being determined and if any misconduct proved, the two cops will be subject to administrative disciplinary proceedings and may be expelled.

The PM said that "does not tolerate misconduct and acts like this sadden the nearly 50,000 honest police officers fighting crime every day," the statement said.

Through its social network, Jason said officers approached him and threatened him with arrest if he didn't get in the police car.

The New Zealander, who lives ten months in Rio, also said that the police took him to ATMs, for him to take money and pay a bribe to agents. The Civil Police investigates the case by the Special Commission for the Support of Tourism (Deat).
