Brazil starts testing its own 'Uber' for public servants

The Brazilian government launched a new app only for some of its public employees in Brasilia on the 23rd, still in the testing phase. This is TaxiGov, a transport app similar to Uber and Cabify that ministers and other servers can use to get around the Federal District. For now, only servers of the Secretariat of Management (Seges) of the Ministry of Planning can use the TaxiGov, which was developed for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. With it, employees can request taxis that will be paid by the government on business trips. According to the Brazilian Govern, paying taxis to the servers will represent a saving of 60% in the transportation expenses of public employees. This transportation today is made with a fleet of private drivers hired, which has an annual expense of BRL 32 million.
