Brazilian police arrest 14 members of the Chinese mafia in São Paulo
On the morning of March 8, the Civil Police executed an operation against a Chinese mafia, which resulted in the arrest of 14 people in the cities of São Paulo and Guarujá. The investigations against this group, were started after an occurrence of three homicides of Chinese people, in the city of São Paulo. According to Elisabete Sato, a delegate responsible, "During the investigations, were discovered the practice of other crimes, such as cases of extortion, kidnapping, trafficking in women, exploitation, games, in short, a range of activities that give reasons to arrest". According to the State Department of Public Security (SSP), detainees and victims belong to the Chinese province of Fujian.
