Globe Books launches series of albums with original Tintin comics in Brazil
The Brazilian publishing Globe Books announced the launch of a collection of albums in hardcover of the Tintin character, with the title The Adventures of Tintin. The character was created by the Belgian cartoonist Hergé in 1929.
The comic will be released as originally published in the 1930s, as a facsimile version of the series - these volumes are in black and white. Remember that, over the decades, Hergé redrew and modified several of his stories, is due to adapt to the new times or to correct some inconsistencies.
The first titles that still arrive in this month to bookstores are Tintin in the Congo, Tintin in America and the Cigars of the Pharaoh, all in format 21 x 28 cm and priced at BRL 59.90. These albums are already on pre-sale on Amazon Brazil with discounted. In Brazil, the news generated a great controversy due to the announcement of the original publication of the work Tintin in the Congo, because various social groups in the country rank the book as being racist. In 2015 a minister of the previous government (the Rousseff government) tried in vain to prohibit the publication of the works of Hergé in the country, and also ban works by other authors such as Tolkien and JK Rowling, as seen in here in an ancient news.
In Brazil the publication will not be colored |
