Accumulated garbage in the streets of Maua Have been for more than two weeks the stoppage of public officials responsible for garbage collection in the cities of the ABC region (Santo André, São Bernardo, São Caetano do Sul and Maua). They demand salary increase equivalent to the inflation of the last 12 months and fairer working conditions. The mayors of these cities do not want to give the increase and claim to have with a deficit budget. Because of this, the waste is already accumulating in the corners, the doors of the school, hospitals and restaurants, indirectly causing the appearance of animals (rats, scorpions, snakes), which generate diseases like leptospirosis (transmitted by water contaminated with rat urine ). A solution found by the residents was to burn the trash, but the main problem faced are the CO2 and sulfur launched into atmosphere far exceeding the target set by the UN.

Building of the Federal Court in São Paulo: closed by strike Every year, officials of the judiciary and the President of Brazil don't reach an agreement when it comes to salary increases. It is also common these officials require salary increase in election period, a period when it is forbidden by law to grant wage increases as it may be interpreted as vote buying for election. This mental game only hinders the compliance of the laws in the country, as delays the progress of legal proceedings and the granting of social benefits.
