Vandals set fire on bus during protests in Rio de Janeiro

In the face of all the confusion provoked by protesters opposed to the proposed changes in labor laws imposed by the government of President Michel Temer, a group of vandals decided to set fire to a bus that was trying to break a blockade and lead local residents to the downtown.  The incident occurred near the Rocinha favela and almost caused serious injuries to some passengers, because the criminals (linked to trade union groups and opposition parties) threw bottles of Molotov cocktail on the bus, and only after the fire started, they tried to drag the people for the street. In a short time, a group of police arrived to rescue the passengers and the criminals fled.

Lack of maintenance harms locomotion of wheelchair users in Rio de Janeiro

That transportation in Brazil is a huge chaos - as well as almost all public services in the country - isn't a new, but there's a problem more frequent in the city of Rio de Janeiro: the infrastructure for wheelchair users in bus. At first glance, you may think that there are no wheelchair lifts in buses, but they do exist. The problem is a lack of maintenance, a fact that the city of Rio de Janeiro has had to face, even during the Olympics. Faced with the financial crisis through which the state and municipal governments cross, the authorities say they have insufficient funds to make preventive and corrective repairs to equipments. Without having how to solve this misfortune, disabled people need to rely with the solidarity of drivers and passengers to get on the bus and to overcome the bureaucracy that is to be poor in Brazil. Bus drivers are beaten in Rio de Janeiro

Thieves jumping of bus window after performing assault With less than a year to the start of the Olympics, the violence in Rio de Janeiro is growing at an alarming rate. A crime wave involving stabbing in the streets and squares, gave way to thefts on buses and subways. "It's the worst job that I've ever worked," fumed a driver. The buses is crowded in the first stopping points, although the number of paying persons doesn't reach five. With full bus, a group of about 10 young begin the assaults. When the buses arrive in the city center, the congestion further facilitates theft. From the middle to the back of the bus, they destroy all the seats and rear windshield. They pull the lever and push with your feet. The assaults committed by young people on buses is common during all days of the week. Motorists say that the problems in the bus lines are repeated constantly. Young people that go to the beach to commit assaults are called "sea air"...

Residents of poor communities began to burn buses in protest

Bus burned in slum Over the last five years a form of protest has become very common in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro: burning bus. It wasn't enough the poor quality of public transportation offered to the population in these two cities, the people began to set fire to these vehicles in protest against any fact: traffic accidents, prision of local traffickers, tax increases, lack of water and lack of electricity. Once, a group of residents set fire to two buses due to the defeat of a local team in a soccer league. This type of crime was common in the poorest neighborhoods and now is spreading, often causing the closure of interstate highways.

Young player of GTA steals bus and causes accident in downtown

The incident occurred in the city of Curitiba, southern Brazil. A boy of 16 years old robbed a bi-articulated bus in the city center. The vehicle was parked in a bus terminal with some passengers inside. They were waiting for the start of the trip because the driver was returning from the bathroom, so the young man seized the opportunity and stole the bus. The passengers only realized that the vehicle wasn't being driven by the driver, after having traveled about 800 meters and then immediately the young lost control of the wheel and entered within an office building, causing a serious accident that left 9 people injured. According to relatives and friends, the young boy was addicted to the GTA game and had stolen his father's car three times, almost causing another accident at one of the times.
