Lula's supporters attack and trample an opposition party protester

A man was beaten in front of the Lula Institute after Judge Sérgio Moro ordered the arrest of former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva late Thursday, for crimes of passive corruption and money laundering.

The senator Lindbergh Farias (PT-RJ) was giving an interview in front of the place, in the Ipiranga neighborhood, south zone of São Paulo, when the man not yet identified interrupted the interview with shouts.
"Come and fight with me, your thief. You'll not you be reelected again, you idiot?", shouted the protester.
The senator then turned to the visibly irritated man and challenged him to talk face to face. At the same time, other supporters of the former president began to beat and kick the protester who ended up banging his head on a truck that was passing by.

Lying on the ground, the protester continued to be kicked and then was carried by security guards to the Hospital São Camilo, which is in front of the Lula Institute.

The leaders of the PT were advised by the party treasurer - Emídio de Souza - to leave the site. They got into cars and set out for the Metalworkers' Union in Sao Bernardo do Campo, where the former president was expected to make a statement to the newspapers.
